About Xtreme Gymnastics

Developing Character Through Athletics

Xtreme opened in 2002 and is a one-of-a-kind facility uniquely prepared to meet the needs of the community.  We offer both recreational and competitive programs for girls and boys ages 18 months to 18 years.  It is our goal to offer wide ranges of classes to fit each child in your family.

We hope to help families in our community and especially children to develop not only as athletes, but as individuals.  We use movement education as a tool to build the self-confidence of the individuals in our programs.  We strive to teach the benefits of working hard to achieve a goal, the importance of cooperation and citizenship, learning to overcome obstacles, and to have fun while being active. Through the programs we offer, we hope to build a solid foundation for success in all endeavors of life.

We have an amazing staff recognized both nationally and internationally!  Our competitive programs have produced many state, regional, national, and world champions!

Jen has been a part of the Xtreme staff since 2010. As the Xcel Head Coach, Jen believes that gymnastics can teach much more than athletic skills! It can teach young women how to face their fears, deal with constructive criticism, overcome adversity, push through and when to rest, and most importantly – how to believe in and advocate for oneself. Gymnastics is a vehicle for empowering young women to Think, Dream, Believe, Achieve! Jennifer grew up in Detroit, MI; went to High School in Stevens Point, WI, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology and Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She spent one year doing chemical research in Fargo, ND and then returned to the University of MN for her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Jennifer taught high school science for 12 years in Minneapolis before moving to Washington DC where she started a youth employment program. When her oldest daughter became school age, Jennifer and her family moved to Lee's Summit to be near her husband’s family. Since moving here, Jennifer has taught yoga, worked at John Knox Village, taught at a therapeutic boarding school and volunteers teaching Sunday School at her church. Throughout all of her life experiences, Jennifer has coached girls to become better athletes and better people.

Sarah is a Lee’s Summit, MO native with 30 years gymnastics experience and over 15 years experience coaching gymnasts of all ages!  Sarah was a competitive gymnast with Dave’s Gymnastics Factory and Lee’s Summit North High School until she graduated from LSN.  She held the school record for most “on the beams” in a season (8).  Sarah Lee joined Xtreme in 2006 as the Mega Tot Program Director.   She graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Sarah’s passion is preschool and pre-team girls gymnastics!  She is currently the Head Coach of Super Stars (competitive Level 2 team), Director of the Mega Tot Program, Girls Gymnastics, and Competitive girls pre-teams.

Sarah’s goal as a coach is to make a positive impact on the lives of the children and families she interacts with every day.  She loves watching the eyes of the children she coaches sparkle when they learn a new skill or overcomes an obstacle. Her goal for the children in her programs is for them to have fun, be active, and learn new skills while hopefully falling in love with gymnastics like she did many years ago! In her spare time Sarah loves spending time with her family!  She has been married to her husband, Chris, since 2009 and they have a little boy name Ryan and a fat, fluffy corgi named Low Ryder.  You can sometimes find her shopping at Target with her mom, or biking with her family on the Little Blue Trace Trail. Sarah loves her family, friends, gymnastics, chocolate chip cookies, and decorating for/celebrating holidays!
